In July of 2017, The Maine Brew Bus offered a ride to Charlie and his family from Portland to the mainland wharf in Spruce Head for his special Maine event at Whitehead Light Station called Craft Beer Appreciation with Charlie Papazian.
Charlie Papazian is the founder of the American Homebrewers Association, the Great American Beer Festival, and is also the founder and past president of the Brewers Association.
During this two hour trip, a select group of individuals key to the current Maine brewing scene were personally invited to join on the ride with Charlie.
On the trip up, the leadership of Maine Brewers’ Guild recapped current efforts in regard to the promotion and legislation of Maine’s brewing industry.
In addition, representatives from Dirigo Brewing Company in Biddeford, Lone Pine Brewing Company in Portland, Fore River Brewing Company in South Portland, and Yes Brewing in Westbrook had an opportunity to talk about themselves, their brewery, and sample Charlie and the group on a limited number of their beers.
